Alley Lighting
Alley lighting is a neighbourhood renewal construction service offered by the City of Edmonton for residents.
About the Service
Alley lighting is installed on the existing wood poles in your alley. EPCOR will inspect the wood poles to make sure they can support the lights without causing problems for other utilities.
How Do I Obtain the Service?
If you wish to have lighting installed in your back alley your neighbours must also agree to have the work done and pay for the installation and ongoing maintenance costs. You will have to get the signatures from the majority of the property owners adjacent to the alley.

Fees
All residential lots backing on the alley will be assessed the cost of installing the lights. The assessment is added to the homeowner's property taxes as a "Local Improvement" the year after the lighting has been installed. The cost can be paid in one lump sum or over a period of five years.
Your total cost is based on the width of your lot along the alley.
